The Case Management Society of South Texas was formed in 1990 by a group of eight members who performed the role of Case Management.
It was noted that Home Health, Rehabilitation Nurses, etc. all had their own organizations but there was no organization for Case Managers. It was started as a networking opportunity and later became focused on education as well.
The first officers were elected in the spring of 1991. Philip Shannon, RN, served as the first elected Chair.
